Lab 12 - Microbiology: Measuring bugs and other small bits

Measurement of bacteria and other submicron particles represent challenges to cytometric measurements. The lab will familiarize the participants with requirements for instrument set up and data presentation based on 400nm particles, issues of triggering and signal interferences.
We will look at functional stains for bacteria and the influences of  the sample matrix and storage and at staining methods using antibodies and lectins in multicolour applications.
