Apoptosis

In this laboratory, we will provide an overview of the many methods available for detecting apoptosis by flow cytometer.  We will then provide hands-on experience in preparing and analyzing samples, using several common assays for apoptotic analysis including DNA dye exclusion, annexin V and caspase detection..  In additional to traditional flow cytometric analysis, we will also have two image cytometry platforms available, allowing simultaneous cytometric and morphological analysis of apoptotic cells.  Considerable time will be spent on post-acquisition analysis of apoptosis, to help the user identify apoptotic subpopulations and artifacts.
